I think that's some good goals, and I think you are thinking of the right things to achieve them.

For the long legs on Orange, what I like to do is break up each legs into mini-legs, and make sure you execute the first one before moving on to the next one. That lets me keep the focus for the entire leg without the need to keep the entire leg in my mind the whole time.
