I missed the klister part, too, and waxed for fresh snow. Lost it all early on. Remembered your advice from a few years ago and carried some with me, so rewaxed once and switched skis later on as well. As you said, it's not nice to be without kick. Glad I was in for only the 25k!
Indeed, nice effort, esp. with the conditions (a waxing nightmare?). Did Larry ski the 25k? I think he's 81 now.
Thanks. Yes Larry and Sara Mae were racing as well. So was Adrian Owen and Ari Ofsevit. Results are posted on the Craftsbury website. Awesome to see so many incredibly strong and fit "elderly" folks up there in ski country. They must have been top racers in college, or else they spend all day in the gym and on the tracks....I have been trying without success to close the gap for some years, but would need to seriously notch up my training effort. I more or less keep it to the fun level.
