Has always sounded nice. Did you get a GPS track of your walk, where to park?
Indeed I did, I forgot about that! Will upload it now.
Thanks. Looks great, both tracks. Is the track that Neil pointed to included in the Preserve area?
I don't think so, but its actually almost impossible to tell because they're just starting to develop the place, and there's not much in the way of maps and information!
I tried lidar of the area but only got some your's, none of the lower regions or Neil's. Will try again later. Could see what looks like trails and stone walls. So a start to something.
This is cool! We mostly go on the town park trails that are well blazed and mapped, those are what Neil's tracks show. Mike & I went on these trails once while we were visiting over the holidays and we noticed that they had started to clean them up. There was also a new gate where your track starts and ends (probably to stop ATVs to go on them). Was there signs for parking there now and were the trails blazed? At the end of Ingham Hill Rd is a big property where they aren't very found of people entering the trails even though it's allowed. Had no idea it was becoming a state park.. So it's possible we'll have an o-map right out the door next time we visit Mike's parents?! ;)
There's still no parking signs but they have started blazing trails. The first part of our track till the power line is blazed as a blue arrow trail, but there's lots more going off that trail that don't have any yet. When you get to the Essex bit there's blazes everywhere. Oh, and the very final bit of our trail from the pond back to the start was also red blazed. No signs for parking yet though!
The people in the big house at the end of the road have put a big sign up telling people to turn round - it's quite a polite sign, but we definitely didn't want to walk through their property to get to more trails!
