Wow!! Lucky you! Such a rare treat. We have an agreement with some friends nearby that we can phone each other at any time of the night if we see them.

Wow! I still haven't seen them since we moved to Canmore. I've watched for them on a few nights when the probability was supposed to be high, but they are rare to see.

Something to put on your list: A trip to the Arctic where there are northern lights every night in winter as long as the sky is clear (and the nights are long!) We once did an XC ski trip to Blachford Lake Lodge. The only other guests were a couple who slept by day and photographed northern lights by night.

Wow! White or colour? I have seen them only once on a northern canoe trip, incredible.

CO, I will text you next time. Apparently, there were crowds watching them at Lake Minnewanka.
Eco, they were light green. Probably not such intense colour because of the light pollution from Canmore.
Bash, definitely I would love to see more of them! :)
