you know your legs better than me, but when I ping my hamstring, I just rest it with ice, why take the chance on making it worse?
because it won't. no harm done pushing to the edge - just not over, got to be very careful w that. but active recovery is faster and better than sedentary recovery, stimulates and speeds healing, maintains caloric balance and mental equilibrium. at least thats the hope.
True ... forgot about active recovery ... trick is the timing ...
the sooner the better in my book.
