HR 201 may be possible. I can remember actually hitting 206-207 on some testing drills designed to hit your max heart rate (but that was about 10 years or more ago.... younger heart :))
'Bent went over 200 often - sometimes up to 210 - when he was in his late 30s. We talked with an exercise physiologist about it and he asked whether 'Bent had been fit since he was a teenager (yes). He said sometimes people with a long history of exercise don't hit the max limit that their muscles can handle before the HR gets quite high. He did suggest that 'Bent pretend his HRmax was 200, set his zones from that, and try to stay below.
I think it's possible for me to get into the high 190s now. During the only VO2 max test I've ever done (10 years ago!) I reached 199 I think. But I didn't think I worked that hard last night and now looking at the HR chart on Strava, it looks like maybe the strap had a bad connection during our warmup? Or my heart was working waaaaaaay too hard when I was just jogging.
I often get weirdo HR readings in the first 5-10 minutes, probably before the strap has good contact. If it didn't feel like 201, it probably wasn't!
