I know I was disappointed by the lack of a progress report. I was interested to hear what Boltboi had to say. Mind you I am a bit confused how there is a newborn in a house on a vacant block and why the tradies are governed by its schedule.

They turned up on site 6.45am most mornings. Surprised as normally building tradies are on site at daylight or earlier. I say that because last year in August the corner house had the wall chaser cutting the walls at 5.30am by headlight. He stopped when we turned out lights on. Needless to say Ali reported him to the Builder after having a word to the sub contractor. The sub contractor's response to our complaint about a grinder being operated at 5.30am was we didn't complain when he did our house. Well that's because the area wasn't a residential area at the time. He made the point that he stopped once he saw our lights come on. What a gentleman.......

I have a vague idea that noise is supposed to be kept down until 7am - is that still the go?

Noise has to be contained within the property up until 7am. Clearly a grinder cutting into brick on a house with no windows and no roof doesn't meet that description.

The roofing carpenters were really courteous. We are now at the chasing walls stage next door so lets see if we get the same muppet.
