Sounds like a chilly weekend!
My "PR" is -43C (-46F) on New Years Eve close to 40 years ago. The air was to dry to breathe normally and you didn´t want to stay out for too long.
I was at a club training camp at the time and we actually went out on a longer ski trip when it was -27C which would be about the same as what you had yesterday. We just couldn´t stay inside the whole time...
Youth simply can't be contained and possesses more psychological insulation.

That didn´t help my freezing hands when we stopped for a short hot chocolate break...
Yes, the fingers, the nose, the ears and the toes (and what else knows...)
can freeze, in spite of youth:).
