How did he do with the snow in general? He is only medium-sized and doesn't have boots.

Medium-sized is a generous description. But he did great! He would mostly run in the tracks, but he is so small that he didn't do any damage to them. And the snow was deep enough outside of the trail that he wasn't very tempted to go wander off into the woods. The couple of times he tried that, he basically buried himself in snow and had to back out. It was all very cute.

What's his top speed on flat ground with good footing?

I bet he skis better than I do.
