Discussion: Rideau Canal

How far can you actually skate on the canal? Is the ice good the whole way from Parliaments to Dows Lake or even further?

I have pretty good opportunities here for skating on the lake between Falun and Borlänge.

The canal is 8 Km long so a loop is 16 Km. Some sections are in poor shape so the whole length has only been open in the last 5 days. Now we just had 50 cm of new snow. That will close it down for a couple of days.
