I was looking at the splits a little closer between me and Nikolay, and we were within 20 seconds of each other at every single control. My biggest lead was 19 seconds at #4 before my mistake, and Nikolay's biggest lead was 20 seconds at #7. In fact, once we got to #8, we were within 10 seconds of each other for the remainder of the race (~26 minutes). That's pretty remarkable, I think, so I plotted it out.
Each "o" is a lead of just 2 seconds!
Nice. You've been working hard and training pays off :) keep up the speed work.
Thanks. I'm really amazed at how close we were through the entire race. 10 seconds is pretty close!
Also, I feel the need to keep running, because of something I read when I was a kid:
“When you are not practicing, remember, someone somewhere is practicing, and when you meet him he will win”
That said, we're about to enter the season where I think you have more of an advantage: longer courses that require more strength and endurance. I can handle 40 minutes, but I'm not sure how much beyond that I can do.
