Maybe it's trad because it was climbed before the trad-sport divide really got started, when there was nothing but trad. The name, incidentally, is a nifty pun on the feeling you might get if you were climbing in EBs, one of the earliest smooth-rubber climbing shoes. I never wore them, but I hear they didn't stick too well. That face is about as vertical as you can get and still stick to the rock, even with the best shoes.
