Hey Nev - we piled into the van and are in Gatineau to see the Viking museum exhibit today and some Viking sprint skiers tomorrow. You going to be spectating at the World Cup?

Nice! I'm right across the river at the Pearson Building (the one that looks like a chocolate layer cake, or the Sphinx). I'm taking tomorrow off, will be kicking around the race.

Let me know if interested in food/drink tonight, I'm at 613-804-2784.

Have grandma and kids in tow so nothing exciting planned. Likely traipse over to Papaye Verte, just down the block, to sample some yummy Thai food. Will keep an eye out for you tomorrow (Sudden and clan may possibly arrive as well, if weather forecast not too insane).

That's decent Thai food, nothing special, but might be a slight step up from the options in Parry Sound.
Hope the crazy weather holds off. What do you think might slow down the Norwegians?

The organizers did what they could...big headlines in Norway that Sundby had to wait 3h before the organizers picked him up at the airport...
We have decided to not go. Really sucks. I have wanted snowstorms entire winter but not tomorrow. We could probably make it to Ottawa with little problem but drive home doesn't look good. Long drive as it is for one day.

Not only did they have to wait at the airport, but then the Canadians charged them for the drive! Harvey didn't go to the opening ceremony because he was worried about the wait.

Just saw a half dozen Norwegians out for an evening jog... We are staying same hotel as the Canadians. Have yet to see the Swedes. Sorry you won't make it Hans! We will have to plan better for next time, whenever that is...

Yes, the drive home looks sketchy indeed, I'm sure Algonquin will be interesting. Freezing rain all the way here. Heavy snow all the way home...?

I'm pretty sure the Norwegians and I are doing the same bread and butter run. I hope it works for them...

Northug endeared himself to the Nakkertok coaches by taking a piss in the middle of the stadium in view of all the juniors. They expect many 13 year olds to copy him next year.

Probably something he learned in prison. I'm sure they'd rather that the 13-year-olds copy the piss maneuver rather than his drunken driving habits!

Man, coaching that guy would be rough! Well other than the gold medals.

Northug only get coached on his terms. He is outside the team but has a special agreement/contract which allows him to represent Norway. I guess that allows him to pick and choose his coaches.

Brrrrrrrrr. PFC out there this morning. Will this be the coldest World Cup of the year?
