Who knew? I wouldn't have known that either but we've done almost all our dog runs on trails so apparently we've just been lucky.
Poor thing. I was telling storm about the time you and I took goose for a 6 hour adventure in the queen Elizabeth Providence park and goose's softened paws (from the marshes) got torn to shit on the Canadian shield. I still feel bad about that day.
Yeah. I was very conscious about her ready for it fitness wise...but never thought about her paws being tough enough. Simpy I forgot about that! That was again one of those ones where you wouldn't have expected it. And I think we didn't expect to be out as long for that one either...although I remember it being pretty fun!
On one of the Facebook running groups, I saw people talking about working their way up to 5K runs with their dogs. I guess that is why. I took AdventureDog out yesterday for 18K on snowy, hilly trails and he probably ran 10% farther, then didn't have the decency to even pretend to be tired afterward. I wonder if we are doing ourselves any favours by making our dogs so fit! ;)
I know...little buggers. What was funny about Saturday is Keiko was never running. It was like a fast trot....because that is all she needed to do to keep up with me.
Sometimes I'm convinced that the look on their little faces is sarcasm.
