Can you enter on the day? and turn up on a cx bike? I might challenge some my ride group buddies to turn up but they aren't great at pre planning.

OK, I read the Eventor to see you can EOD, but my bike query still stands, what sort of distance will the long course be?
Mar 2, 2016 5:25 AM #
There's no long course. It's effectively 2hrs, rogaine style - do what you like! Maybe we should have made that clearer on the website.

Pre-entry is preferred because we'll only print a limited number of maps for EODs.

Anything cross bikes will work. Road bikes will make it to most controls although you'll have to go the long way between some of them.

Don't suppose we could pre-enter through Eventor? Not sure why this BigCartel mob need my postal address for something that won't be shipped. :)

No we were trying to make it convenient for non-members who'd otherwise have to set up an Eventor account :-(

But now it's inconvenient for cranky members! #omg #firstworldproblems #eod4lyfe

Yeah you should know by now that the world revolves around rewarding those who don't contribute or participate, not those who do.

Subtle change made to the web site to cover the score style

Juffy it is OK we know where you live

Big Cartel is not optimal - now we have used it in anger a couple of times we'll look at other more pure ticketing options. But occasional use against ongoing costs is an issue. Know any worth looking at?

A lot of events seem to be using eventbrite, maybe because it is free for free events.
Mar 3, 2016 4:32 AM #
Is there a discount for pre-entry? If not why would I? (serious question)
Mar 3, 2016 4:40 AM #
Mike, our event is not free.

Wally, to guarantee yourself a map and to make it easier for us.

Eventbrite is one to look at Mike - but it will cost and take some paperwork to get not-for-profit status. Mass participation from non members and low events entry costs are some of the considerations.

I realise our events are not free, just saying eventbrite might be popular because it is free (for those it is popular with) rather than because it is good. I think its mostly government information sessions that I've come across that used it. I can't actually remember whether it seemed convenient to use. Wide adoption may be an advantage if a lot of people already have accounts.

Took a ride around half of the course this morning, a good area, a good map by tRicky and not too taxing. Time to sign up and beat the rush
