That sounds so incredibly painful. I'm glad you're alright, in the grand scheme of things. Sounds like maybe a broken rib? Take it easy, be careful...

Wow! That hurts just reading about it. I still have a divet in my upper quad from getting strung over a wire fence I didn't see sometime last fall...had just looked up from my map at open forest ahead, got excited and accelerated right into the thigh-high fence. The fall hurt so much I was momentarily nauseous, although I didn't knock the wind out of myself. That must have been disconcerting.

Glad to hear you're ok, and great that people actually checked on you.

Izzy B:
I've had a similar chest injury that also caused pain in my back (I got hit by a kayak while rafting believe it or not). The recovery time was really long even though I hadn't broken anything. Possible chest contusion? Feel better!

Thanks for the support, everyone! It's good to hear I'm not the only one who's injured myself in a completely ridiculous way.

I don't think I broke anything. I did my doctor's visit over the phone (calling my dad and having him give me instructions on where to push, etc.), so the current diagnosis is no fractures, but I'm still not sure what's wrong. It sounds like there isn't much to do aside from wait to matter what it is, so I'll just hope it goes away quickly.
