Yeah I considered that but general soreness was different to what I got.
I'm confused, you did things so perfectly... base phase or say 12-15 reps for general conditioning, gradually into a few weeks of 8-10 reps and only then into hypertrophy. Maybe it's just that you're aged now and your connective tissue aint what it used to be?

tbh I think the running was the mistake it was only planning for a few weeks from now once the base had settled for the weights. and yes whilst the rep range is 8-10 the weight is lighter than it should be for that rep range so in some ways it was base loading.
its most likely the minor ripping from legs weights opened up a bit with the more elastic motion of jogging (I dare not call what I do running atm) just hoping its not too significant as calves are a bitch to heal.
Calves join up with your heel.
