This is very encouraging and inspiring...how did the diagnosis and treatment for the asthma play out?

Yeah, I was psyched. But not so psyched that it prevented me from slacking off on the second interval.

I had asthma about 20 years ago, got it under control after about 5 years, got off the meds, and hardly gave it another thought. When it came back, primarily last spring, the symptoms were totally different and I didn't understand what was going on. But my primary care doctor did. She sent me to a pulmonologist, and here's what I said about that when I saw him in January.

I had a follow-up last week, and he said I'm much better but my alveolar ducts are still constricted, could take a year to return to normal. So I guess I can just kick back and wait for more improvement!

Undiagnosed and, within my sensory perception until now, unmentioned. Nice to find out your slump in running speed in road races wasn't just one of those things you have to accept is going to happen given time.
