The jumpers chute opened, twisted and threw the subject into the North face which then collapsed his chute and caused him to slide down the face until the fabric got hung up on the rock. With some great helicopter flying skills by Alpine Helicopters, one public safety specialist was helislung into the scene near the injured person and built and anchor to secure the patient. A second staff member was then brought in to assist in the evacuation of the subject down to EMS. Subject was then transported to Canmore hospital.

Oh boy...I saw the ambulance going that way and heard the helicopter - was wondering what happened.

I wonder if it was one of the three base jumpers I met last week on Ha Ling and totally offended when I suggested their sport was a little dangerous. I hope I didn't jinx them.

You said WHAT to them??!! ;)

I'm sure they know that most people think their sport is dangerous, so I don't think you have to feel too responsible for a possible jinx.
