Have your participants got a mandatory swimming ability test prior to starting the race?

Remember this is Perth at the end of summer.

Ah, yes. We had 12.8mm, mostly in the afternoon the other day so it's damp here.

Almost had to move the control back to where it was previously. The printer printed the wrong version of the map I sent. I got them to fix it.

Could have had two controls and and either / or location

Why? There's only one on the map and only one in the terrain.

Wouldn't have bothered with the map reprint except the updated one showed the revised patrol route around the tree on the road plus the extension to the OOB at the quarry. No doubt the tree will be gone tomorrow too.

Apparently this control would have been better described as 'A big hole' and it was totally not a proper rogaining control.

You mean the dam wasn't on the map?
Mar 20, 2016 11:02 AM #
Yeah it was but if a rock pile isn't a proper rogaining control, then a big hole can't be either.

I thought it was an awesome control site, there's just no way it was a dam. :)

The dam? The big hole? Proper articles make all the difference in rogaining :)

All the features were on the map, even the rock pile I'd drawn a contour for (I thought it deserved one). I even had X for man made features (including the inept shelter) and some yellow for open areas just to confuse rogainers with colour.

My favourite control description yesterday was "child made feature" which unsurprisingly turned out to be a(n unmapped) teepee made of sticks. But I guess "inept shelter" could have worked for that one too!
