If so, I can see the merits of not logging time/distance aka pace on AP :-)
Actually, I'm clueless (and deviceless except for a simple watch) - I just do rough mental estimates based on hours run, and guesstimate average pace.
That's smart! While I do record distance I have to remind myself not to get stressed out about day to day pace performance in training (Cept on the track :-)
Re devices I stopped using my garmin but am back to using a HRM while I shake the respiratory blahs.

Ha ha! That's what you get for living in a city developed by the French! Chicago was developed by Germans...very precise! Every 800 house numbers is a mile, every block a 1/8 mile. So it is very easy to calculate mileage, no matter what course we run here.
I was all ready to say 'thats it i'm moving to chicago'...then i remembered most of my running is on off-grid stuff anyway
