how was it up there? Was thinking about doing something similar tomorrow afternoon...

Any idea what your time was from gate to summit?

It was about 1h13m from Dollarton & Riverside to the top. The pavement is in excellent condition and you don't have to break too hard on the descent afterward on the turns. I'd guess that the climb is about 6% on average or maybe a little less. It's definitely a spinner more than a masher climb. In the middle of the day, there were almost no cars...just a few school busses and work trucks. Again, gorgeous day out there. And yeah, it was so good to get out.

Right on... I did that climb probably a dozen or more times last year, just wasn't sure what the shoulder conditions were like since we got about 30 times as much snow up there this year compared to last.

1h13 from dollarton to the top is a pretty damn good pace...

As Kilian Jornet says about North America versus the Alps: "is no so vertical".
For an Alps man like Phatty, this was almost flat; hammer time.

Pretty sure I get the opposite effect coming from Ontario...

Pretty sure you're right. That's how I felt 2 weeks ago.

Yeah, me and my bud Kilian have SO much in common, athletically speaking. Wilderness, let's get out for some fun adventures when you're available to make your old man jealous enough to get back out here soon!

But does Kilian have shoes with his name on them?...

Phatty, just let me know when and where, and promise you'll take it easy on me. Unless I have a presentation or an exam, I can usually make time.
