This was awesome. You are awesome.

Thanks. Yes, it was awesome. I'm pretty happy.
The middle school kids are happy.
Comment from one of the high school kids: well, it wasn't varsity. (They run track, and I guess they don't have much appreciation for JV.) That was funny. Also, they are comparing themselves to Isak, perhaps. They don't see it the way I do perhaps, that they made SO much progress in a month. And they were so into it. It was cool.

Wow. What Bash said.

Leashes on the SI dibbers are essential. We always have to show people how to use them, but almost all of our junior and rental SIs have leashes. It removes 90% of the risk of loss.

You can buy them or just source the components and have a little build party (cheaper, but a bit of a hassle).

I am SO looking forward to presenting these terrific kids with their hard-earned medals and trophies at the Troll Cup!

Yes. Lack of leashes was one of several coaching errors.
Thanks Guy! Tell Mike he can ignore my request to have them sent.

I think ARK makes leashes out of a couple of pony tail elastics.

Camera straps and the spring loaded clamp things you often find on drawstrings. Both available for cheap in convenient quantities on ebay. Takes about 15 seconds to assemble.

Re: leashes...
Any thoughts on elastic v non-elastic strings/lanyards? AFAIK both require some kind of cinching device...

A leash could be as simple as a loop of string or streamer tape that can be put around the wrist or grasped in the palm of the hand. Brightly colored is useful if dropped.

$8.13 for 20 = $0.41 each

Thanks, done, appreciated.

Great pic!

Unleash the Cambridge Kraken - I bet your group could easily sell 20-50 leashes as a fundraiser (pay what you want, suggested donation 5$) at the next A-meet.

Excellent idea! Very little investment required, good potential payoff. Include installation on the SI-stick with purchase, to help those with aging eyes to thread the needle.

Quercus whistles might make a good fundraiser too. Very minimal initial outlay, right JJ :-)

You remember those?!

OK, fine, got some more.
