The GO I briefed today said the weather made it a really difficult run. Way to stick with it!
Thanks! I think it actually helped me that they took down all the mile signs and split clocks (because of the wind). Since I had no idea what my time was versus my expectations, I could focus on just running how my body wanted to run that day, which was ultimately a little slower than I had planned, but I was able to manage the tightness in my calves and maintain a steady heart rate. Definitely some good learning points as I shift my focus more toward 10k and some speed training through the rest of the spring/summer.
Woo! Found a good 10k yet? Seems like a lot are on Sundays...when I plan to be in the woods!
Not yet, but there is a really decent (and hilly- for southern MD) 5 mile route I can run by my house, so I may just start running that every week and see how it goes. I also plan to be in the woods as much as possible on Sundays, so it'd have to be a pretty awesome 10k to drag me from orienteering!
I'll keep an eye out. Don't think I have another one planned, but I think I found one for Jon. May have to do a bit of digging to remember which one it was, though!
