It took an inordinate amount of time i.e. more than ten seconds, to figure out where you are.

When it's not bushy it's easy, but then it's bushy again. What's the opposite of simples in the argot of Russian Meerkats?

There was still plenty of nice beach, just a bit lower than it used to be judging by the steps. And a lot of sand piled up against the sea wall and on the road. I just thought it was always like that. Bloody tourists.
