It was a bit of a result in the end. My knee-length duvet jacket was very much duvet-like so I wasn't too cold. We woke up and it was actually quite sunny (freezing wind tho) so we got up early and did the beaches, the lifeboat museum and saw captain cook' old lodgings (Laurence), the Abbey (Ray) and Lucy wanted to find fossils. I didn't really know where to start fossil hunting, but we just so happened to bump into Steve Whitehead, who enthusiastically told us what we could find and where. So it was orienteering (in the hail), fish and chips and icecream, then an evening on the beach near the Abbey finding lots of fossils - in the sun. Whitby rocked today!

My children, hopefully. That's the aim.
