Just read post on OA website - no results on Eventor yet. Well done you!
Hmmn. I can't seem to find any reference to the weekends Mtbo event on OA apart from the March 31st post.
It's on their FB page. Nice work Ricky :)
No official results that I have seen yet, just the post in OA, but to the best of my memory:
Rick came strong with 1st in both the middle and the long distance and 2nd in the sprint
Tash had 5th in the sprint, and I can't recall the other results but one of them was 4th in a highly competitive field,
Duncan performed well, and had one podium spot in the first day
And I came 6th in the middle distance, and miss-punched in the sprint, don't know the result of the long distance yet.
There was some mention of the women's results being "subject to a computer check" - maybe they synced their SI bricks as well as we did.
Only info I got was via PrueD concerning a report of timing problems.
It looks like they started times in the middle from the first control rather than the start, which may have upset the W21 results. Carolyn was showing as finishing ~10 seconds behind Marina on the day (which still shows in the results) but she was given the prize at the dinner.
Oh dear god. Not only are the victorians not uploading results to Eventor, they're still using that horrible old website system we used to have whose name I've blocked out because it gives me nightmares. *shudder*
@juffy SocialFX. sleep well, you're welcome :-).
Noice weekend. You were obviously more consistent than the timing system.
Well done Ricky. R u up for a slow mtb spin Friday morning?
@Nicole - why do you hate me?
I agree with Juffy, and I live in Victoria. May have to go back to being a Sth Aussie :)
Bloobit, I'm heading out to SA for the ultra-long on Friday morning so I'll have to give that one a miss.
and this -
The Australian Team for the World Mountain Bike Orienteering Championships in Portugal from July 23-31st is:
Elite: Angus Robinson (VIC) Ricky Thackray (WA)
Junior: Lucy Mackie (NSW) Fergus Mackie (NSW)
Coach: Carolyn Jackson (VIC)
Lucy & Fergus will be making their Australian team debuts.
Fergus Mackie will ride elite in the relay to give us a men's team.
Nice work Ricky
Fergus is going to be a superstar. He's only 15, was only a minute behind me in the sprint and five minutes in the long after beating me on 5 of the first 7 splits. Once he builds endurance he will be hard to stop. He didn't think he'd be good enough for JWOC but we convinced him otherwise!
Well done and congrats Ricky. Lots of hard work put in by you and good to see it pay off.
Well done Ricky. Awesome racing.
