Nice to see you're on the mend. You're already training more than most of us that haven't had surgery in the last month.

So High Park wouldn't make the cut Hammer?
Apr 21, 2016 1:38 PM #

If you are thinking of mapping for a sprint camp, I started a map of the Humber College Lakeshore Campus and Sam Smith Park. I think it would be a good area for a sprint. I'd be happy to give you the .ocd if you're interested in using it. I'm certainly not going to finish it.

I was doing it as an exercise to learn about mapping and drafting when I lived in the area (~2009). I have quite a bit of the area drafted, and a fair bit of field work drafted in Sam Smith Park. I'm a novice and I'm sure the area has changed, but I think it is solid starting point.

No O allowed in High Park I believe.

I think between Igor and MarkyMark UofT St George has been mapped. we need to get the U Cup going. Sprint race and sprint relays at southern Ontario Uni campuses

Campus maps, east to west:

U of O
U of T

No one cares about Windsor

Lakehead should be mapped for a new club!

Hammer's list is on point.

U of T St. George is definitely the standout. The rest are similar in quality. Exhibition/Liberty might be too parking lot heavy. 2 level PATH map would be cool. (Street level and main labyrinth). Maybe add U of T Scarborough, (adjacent to Morningside Park).

I think High Park deserves to be in the top 5. It isn't super complex, but you can add some nice route choice legs.

Regarding its availability for O:

Spoke to Malcolm a bit before heading out...I think the biggest issue is that the city doesn't want groups making money by using it. It's probably not the whole story, and TOC probably hasn't approached the city about it for awhile. The bottom line is that the bloody park gets swarmed with people, (on trail/off trail/everywhere), especially on the weekend. An O race would hardly be noticed as a big to do.

St. George Campus: I have not mapped. I have some base materials, but they're at least 5 years old. Would be interested to see what Igor has.

Mick! --> Sure! That's awesome! Haven't been down there in awhile...but I'm sure it would at least be useful for a Wednesday night meet.

Toronto Sprint Camp/Ontario University Series:

Are musts. Should be high priorities for TOC and OOA.

Time for some REAL talk about more hoping/wishing.

Let's get this shit done.

I'm appointing Mark as VP REAL Action!
Apr 21, 2016 5:56 PM #
Ha! Let's start with the REAL talk before the action.

...or we can continue with the hopeful talk, which is fine.

Where can we find a spearhead? A volunteer spearhead.

Mark: you in TO next weekend? Say Fri April 29 or the Saturday?
Apr 22, 2016 5:17 PM #
Ya man... Saturday is best. I'm around all day from 10-10:30 onward.
Apr 22, 2016 6:30 PM #
Excellent, planning meeting over lunch maybe.

Sounds great dude. We can run beforehand if you have the time too... For food there all kinds of places out my way, (along the subway line), but I'm willing to meet anywhere...
