What format was used? And map?
Point to point on Christie Lake.
This race is so well orgainized. It is a model of simplicity.
However I was surprized by two young girls who were helping us.
We had a large number of non-orienteers helping us. I had three elementary school kids assigned to the finish. I told them how everything was done and gave them a job. Started them off and then left them to it.
I came back a few minutes later and the two girls had changed things and eliminated one (unnecessary) step in the operation!
Sign 'em up for the club! We have lots of events they could help organize.
Great news on the number of participants! I'd love to post about it on the Orienteering Ontario Facebook page - or maybe it could go on the DGL Facebook page and OOA could share it. Any other news nuggets? A winning school? We'd want to congratulate and thank Ray, I assume. If someone could email me 3-5 sentences summarizing the day - or post it here - I'll post it on FB.
