Any thoughts on why it is so sloppy? See if you can do a bit of an analysis to determine why you're being sloppy. Obviously you can orienteer in a non-sloppy way so it's not a technical issue. You need to be able to figure out when you're sloppy and when you're not so you can consistently turn it on on game day.
Maybe try and figure out what kind of mental intensity you need for races to focus well
