Not the nicest assessment although it seems strange that your meniscus would be OK with road 10Ks (and associated training) but not OK with trail 50Ks. Did he say what will happen if you run more? I wonder if he's saying that accumulating more mileage will eventually make the flap tear cause symptoms and require surgery? A second opinion after Lavaredo may not be a bad idea. Some docs just don't approve of endurance sports.

He just said running in general especially lots of mileage would most likely cause more tearing eventually and he was really pushing other sports other than running

He did say that if I have little pain that is good and to keep on doing what I am doing for now but when pain sets in then re asses

I was just thinking what Bash said - second opinion! Or at least a doc that understands how important running is (to your mental health!). :)

Yes agreed(: I can't imagine not running and 5 km is not appealing!

Maybe after Lavaredo, Tarno can arrange for you to see the surgeon in Barrie who did 'Bent's knee. He totally understood runners.
