I thought I was doing that job for everybody. Obviously not.
Yeah i turned on quite a few today too.
Are you sure they didn't turn you on, what with all their gadgetry?
the bricks should be set to 30min from memory. They were changed to 2hrs for the national carnival but i don't think they were changed back.
The question would be which set of controls were being used and which control numbers were the offenders?
Well from memory I had 101 and 144 but I don't remember the others. I only recall those because 101 was my first control and 144 had several other people milling around and I thought it odd that it was off (turns out there was another control ~30m away).
When i synced all the bricks, both sets, before the Shenton College event they turned themselves off within about a minute before I could force them to turn off. Not sure if using the master SI Stick gets them to work differently but I did think at the time would they stay on in the event? Did anyone have the same experience at Shenton College?
Come to think of it when I did my third in shenton I had to wake up a few
I was waking them up as well that day, but there's a good chance they hadn't been punched for 30 min since we were so far after the official close of starts. :)
How do you force a brick to turn off?
I take it we're not getting the H1 splits from yesterday in AP due to all the errors :-(
Oh...I just cross loaded the file from Eventor and assumed they'd called the H1 "H2". I'll have another look.
Nah I sent you an email yesterday. Seems to be something wrong with the results though - Ed Plummer and Graham Harris are listed as H1 but I think they did either the 2 or 3 and Jo Anna's splits are wrong.
Also H1 is the only course on Eventor not listing a distance, which seems a bit weird.
Right. Resurrected it - I think someone did something VERY strange in OE, or there's some bugs in the OE-Eventor upload.
Removed Ed and Graham, since they obviously didn't do the H1. Jo Anna had an extra punch on the second control which somehow made it into the official splits, hence the 5s split.
Why is the H3 on TBT a course from about 5 years ago?
I noticed last night that the control brick number for control 2 on H1 and H2 courses is the same as the control brick number for control 1 on H3 which is a very different location- as such it wouldnt surprise me if there is a few anomalies being thrown into the course generation - Juff's aware of that though so no doubt will be sorting it at some point in the near future.
Simmo - the route, or the controls on TBT?
Both. The controls are wrong, and my gps went on the blink about 3 months after TBT started so I haven't uploaded any routes for years, and before that probably no more than 3-4 routes.
Controls look wrong to me - there are some correctly placed I think but others looking at the two traces are wrong.
edit - now looks right to me.
a) Simmo appears to be a member of Bibbulmun,
b) Simmo doesn't have a GPS, and
c) Rob Beattie's route is the same as Simmo's,
I think I can guess what's going on here.
The OE database is certainly stuffed, because when I registered with my SI card (which I've had for years) Rosalie asked me if my name was Patrick Dufty.
Looks like Rob Beattie missed out several controls on H3. He went straight from 3 to 7, then 6, then 8, 9 and then the finish, so he missed 4, 5, 10 and 11, and did 6 and 7 in the wrong order.
I think I only ever uploaded two routes in TBT, they were the State Middle and Long at Ngangaguring in 2013, then the buttons fell out of my FR310 and I've never replaced it.
Haha....well that might explain a few things. I went to delete your route, and Eventor told me it had deleted Patrick Dufty's route as well/instead. And both your routes are gone.
Maybe Patrick's the one uploading random routes in random places, and that's not actually the H3 at all. (As Bryce said, #1 on the H3 was common with #2 on H1/H2, and "Rob"s route goes nowhere near it.
New theory: that's actually Patrick's route.
Simmo to shed light on what I think has happened here.
When someone doesnt start or stop their gps correctly it creates an invalid gps trace from a TBT perspective. TBT wont be able to calculate the controls for the H3 course as only the invalid route is there - you are actually seeing the controls from a different course.
I think Rob then and fixed the gps timing issue and re uploaded for whatever reason under your name. It then had a valid route to calculate off and cross calculate against the other controls which where shared across the courses - this course then looked valid.
Jufyf has since blown away the valid trace which was associated to your name which means h3 isnt showing anymore.
When there was a valid trace and you loaded all routes and then went to h3 the control locations on TBT made sense as did the trace order but I can see why there is confusion being caused here.
Nope - see above. It's not Rob's route either. :)
blah - the last few events have been poop for technological wins!
tRicky is cheating, he has 2 routes up
It's not my fault that TBT has suddenly started to pull routes from AP again (as of last night it didn't). That feature hasn't worked for a while, hence why I also upload to Eventor. Just to make you happy I've made it so it won't pull that one from AP now.
Someone seems to have broken the locations of our control 3, 4 and 11. Must be Andre with his stuttering trace.
yeah it was working earlier but something has gone very whack there!
Funny that #11 where I said I pulled up too early then milled around for a bit, I only won that split by 15 seconds! It was also all uphill and I know I struggled. AP doesn't say I had an error although the other two I said I did, AP concurs.
