Thanks. Yeah GPS lost on the hills at times. Derrycunihy woods was fun in the dark. Got to a junction that was off putting as 1 way pointed towards N71 and downhill NE and the other towards Kenmare and climbing SW. Nearly took N71 as I knew our CP the church was on it. But recognised it meant travelling for 500m along the N71 to get to it (we thought of likely race rules). The other option involved a half hour tough hike a bike over rocks and roots to the Church. Exactly the kind of junction we can expect in ITERA! Found the Old Kenmare Rd ok but it involved another hour of hike a bike!

We didn't take the more direct devils ladder for Carrauntoohil so the lines to the 2 levels were trickier in the dark. My altimeter was about 15m high out of sync so I crossed a stream on the wrong contour line and we nearly ended up climbing a wall! Sense prevailed and we caught the right line just as the dawn began.the ridge was easy as visibility was perfect. A few clouds rolled in when we were on the Cnoc na Peista ridge so we opted to drop down out of it and call it a day. Its not a place to be if exhausted or afraid of heights!
