Discussion: Not too wild

Did you see the photos of damaged cars & trucks on the Spirit of Tasmania?

I did - looked unpleasant. A lot of that was about the extreme swells (7-9 metres forecast, although I'm not sure what was actually observed) driven by the deep low further away in the Southern Ocean - not so much about the winds locally.

Looks like a repeat performance this weekend although still a fair bit of uncertainty about the low's position and hence the location of the high winds - might end up being more of a Tasmania/southwest Vic/southeast SA event. The weekend system looks like it's going to bring good rains almost right through eastern Australia (including SA) though.
