nice workout. I did about half the number of reps at that pace last Monday, so definitely have respect for the effort.

any interest in running a 1500m on the track? the MO Senior Games are coming up, reg deadline is May 23, consider it, looks like you would do well. Last year, the Kansas City Smoke team, smoked me and Rudy. Would be nice to have a good contingent from St Louis. Right Rudy!

thx. I'll give it some thought. Is it a day trip, or do you have to spend the night?

Looks like 5:41 was the time to beat last year in the 50-54 ag?

yes, that's about right, it was horrid hot that day . . .

I think mb came out the night before, did some camping, I just did a day trip . . . I'm definitely hitting Seoul Taco and Strange Donuts . .. post-race! this year. for me, it's all about the food, haha!

i didn't end up camping. stopped a couple of times on the way there to do loosen up/warmups runs. getting there the night before is probably more relaxing and easier on the legs, but camping in the heat? have to think about that. billh, i heard you only get the strange donut if you hit the SD qualification time.

haha, I will not be eating strange donuts for quite awhile then . . . ~5:39 mile, geesh.

have you been to Seoul Taco in Columbia . . . the Gogi beef and Kimchi, yum.

Seoul Taco does lunch in our Cafe every Tuesday. Is the one in Columbia different?

billh:
I've only eaten off the lunch truck at the WU med campus a couple times. the Columbia one is brick and mortar. they had the Golgi beef bowl with the over-easy egg in the middle. that was good.

you are just up the street (west) from us. used to walk to the food trucks until they started coming to us.

when do you find out which day the 1500 is on?
May 6, 2016 8:30 PM #
billh:
you are on the med campus, small world! I'm in Biotech on Scott across from the loading dock . . .

the 1500 is on June 11 11:30am . . . I hope you sign up, looks like you would do well. really the KC Smoke 60+ guys made a very good race, faster than the 50-59.

ps--mb, are you signing up for the 800m at 2:40 as well? I guess I could stay around for that just to get a time in. I haven't done a timed 800 since . . . 8th grade when it was the 880 yd.

I think I signed up...one thing I learned about these meets, sign up for everything, you can always bail, but you cant sign up after the deadline. people use the short distances like 200 and 400 for warmups. maybe better than just sitting around waiting.
May 6, 2016 10:05 PM #
billh:
the 400 is around 8:xx am so too long wait till 11:30 for 1500 . . . that makes for a long day.

We're in Cortex, duncan & boyle.

To get there in time for an 825 start would be painful. Have to leave stl by 545?

billh:
yeah, there's now way I'm getting up to run a 400 that early . . . not my race. the 800 will be enough bonus. !
