It's expected that your speed will suffer a bit as you've been very focused on 50km training for the last year. Once you decide to focus on running shorter distances and change your workouts I'm sure some of the speed will come back.
Clearly I'm in training now of the X-Terra tri at Parry Sound. Isn't it obvious?
