I re-read the final details after I had finished and still was unsure whether the fences were cross-able! I lost at least 45s on that leg running for the gate.

From the middle details:
Stiles will be erected on some fences, please use them, they will be marked on the map and taped on the ground, otherwise use the proper gates.

To me that would indicate that the fences are still uncross-able but the planner said they weren't.

No wonder there was such uncertainty. This was a wooden fence, no stile needed. There was a crossing point marked on next fence on way to 6 but from a distance I could not see anything and climbed the gate instead.

Yeah I declared myself as a multiple fence-crosser at download but got no more than a tsk.

Yeah I took the crossing point as the gate as well. Because the sprint had said that we had to cross all fences by the gates plus the above comment I headed to the gate to cross that fence. I think they just needed to make it clearer, maybe reminding people in the start lanes that they were now allowed to cross the fences. I think quite a few people got caught out like I did.
