The beer runs are intriguing as a social activity. We should pick one in the future for a meet up. This one sounds unsafe, but must be better than alley cats (I'm in denial about the safety of those).

O Steve!:
I figured out I dont have the right bike to ride with you on an alley cat.....mt bike to slow.....tri bike not made for in and out sidewalk riding (unless I was cautious and careful????)

I would be up for a beer run....they are safe (safety in numbers) its basically a big group run that you pay $30 for and get a beer (and a coaster or pint glass.....I don't really need either) but the vibe is fun and its enjoyable. Most seem to come with friends to run and hang out afterwards

Mt bike too slow??? You saw my times on the duathlon. That was with my "fast" bike -- and I was DFL on the bike section. When you come to an alley cat I'll ride my fat bike if it makes you feel better.

I'm going to look over the beer run schedule.
