Not sure he ever ran quite that fast over a marathon...nearer 2.20 but class nevertheless.

I reckon I probably trained with him back in the day... when Aberdeen had about 10 sub-2-20 marathoners.
I asked him how the standard of running in Aberdeen had changed, he reckoned there were 14 sub 2-20ers... with the Baker Hughes (or it's equivalent back then) being won in 29.xx... a good bit faster than todays times.
