Yeah dude, I'm super stoked. I've never raced bikes before, so I figure, do it as the second part of a double so I'm not super disappointed getting waxed by the crushers. The course is awesome; I did the original race (run) couple years back when the ride and run were the same day. Not sure if I'm happier climbing out of Aspen on the bike or having to drop down into it. Shit is steep as balls, especially high up in the ski area, so maybe for the best I'll be hiking my bike up it rather than trying to ride down it super tired. If you've never been to Crested Butte, I'd highly recommend doing a weekend out there with the fam. Would be great training for both you and Maggie as it's high (barely lower than Leadville) and there's great options for gnarly stuff to prep for RRR and dirt roads/rolling trails to prep for Leadville. Plus it's an actual town with things to do for the kid (nice parks, pump track) and places to eat at, unlike Leadville. I spent 10 years here before going to CB and it's my biggest regret.
