Fastest I've ever trained was during staff school in Kansas, with a west point friend whose idea of fun was to see if the person who started second (5 seconds back) could catch the one in front by the ankle, thus bringing the leader to a complete halt. We were the two slow ones in that lane, so it motivated us to try and keep up with the speedier swimmers. Thus began my road to my first triathlon...

Yea, it's crazy how triathlon's can sneak up on you. :-)
