One of those books where the details of the problems and solution are really good and interesting but the way the people (and their interactions, especially) are written about is terrible. I think a lot of orienteers would like it.
The movie was pretty good.

The book was much better than the movie (not surprisingly). Rather different endings as well.
I'm surprised by that. I would have thought that having an actual human actor play the lead would have automatically made the movie better than the book.
Different endings? In the book, they all die?
