Discussion: Local advice

I'm coming across to NZ for QB3 and plan to spend a couple of days beforehand in the north end of the South Island (one of the corners of NZ I haven't really been to, apart from heading straight down the road to Christchurch from Picton) - flying into Nelson Wednesday evening and then going across to Wellington Friday evening.

Any local advice would be appreciated - both in the things to see department, and good runs which aren't too extreme (given that I'll be racing on the weekend and don't want to wipe myself out totally).

Cool. Yep there is heaps of good stuff both extreme and less so. We've got a spare bed or two if you are after a place to stay.
