Congratulations BA - you did so well finishing faster than your expected time. Enjoy the glory and achievement :) and recover well.
Wow, great effort! And I bet you do run that far again, some time :)
You didn't have to go up/down any of the places where ladders had been roped to the cliff?
(Also, soft drink seems an odd recommendation in a carbo-loading context because it's such a quick-acting source of energy and the sugar isn't stored...how is that meant to work?)
Well done BA!! I'm so impressed by this effort, you're a superstar!!
Awesome work Belinda! Great write up as well :)
Thanks! I'm still struggling to walk, my legs are so sore! Luckily the rope ladders were only on the 100km course - I saw photos of them and I think they would've been a bit scary.
No idea about the science of the carbo loading, other than it was the sports dietician's advice! Ate lots of white bread, pasta, mashed potatoes as well as jam, jelly, honey, soft drink and sports drink - I think you just load it up and the excess gets stored in your muscles.... don't really know, but it seems to work! I was pretty glad to get back to some 'normal' food yesterday.
nice one Belinda! very impressed with your mental toughness!
Awesome work Belinda! That is super impressive and it looks like all that pool running was worth it! Hope you recover well now. You are definitely an inspiration!
