At some point over the weekend, Ethan was explaining how he exported splits into Excel and performed a bunch of head-to-head ELO mathematics
to give orienteer ratings, which is way further than I've gone, and is probably pretty interesting stuff.
I don't really have the time to delve into that sort of thing myself, but I did a quickie look at my head-to-head record against everyone so far this season for each leg. Obviously, some legs are longer than others, and this doesn't account for time differences, just wins and losses.
Me vs Tier 1
07% Eric B (5 wins, 71 losses)
11% Jourdan (2 wins, 16 losses)
16% Peteris (5 wins, 27 losses)
17% Will (12 wins, 59 losses)
Will suffers here because he's the only one who showed up to the Sprint, and I had mapper's advantage here.
Me vs Tier 2
36% Nikolay (41 wins, 74 losses)
42% Eric J (32 wins, 44 losses)
In this light, I may not deserve to be in Tier 2 after all.
Me vs Tier 3
52% Laszlo (34 wins, 31 losses)
62% Jonathan (69 wins, 32 losses)
There are a few others in this tier, but these two can still qualify for the season. I probably should have included Ott in this one, though, even though he's injured.
