Once you were in the right re-entrant did you notice why the vegetation change was mapped with the vegetation boundary symbol (black dotted line) while the other green re-entrants weren't? Not that I spent any time exploring these but I imagine that they were increasingly thick fern and other understorey under pine cover as opposed to the sudden change to native.
I also suspect you were caught in our trap of not checking your direction crossing the broad relatively flat spur after climbing out of the previous control , but as nobody beyond the orienteering gods ever runs dead straight on a bearing, knowing that your were expecting a significant and abrupt vegetation change might have got the alarm bells ringing earlier.

Kind of, I don't think I'm very observant on Flora... Yes , I did fall for your trap, and I stopped and looked for the vegetation change and made it appear with my amazing imagination ....

yep, any terrain can be made to fit where you think you are on the map, just ask Bozzy about that one ;-)
