That or go single chainring at front to eliminate the strain your put through your front derailleur when changing small to big or Big to small chainring :-)

Yeah I do but it's generally not by choice. The dumb chain keeps dropping to SCR (or even out the other side) when going over bumpy ground. That said, as I was out riding today I decided I'll give them a call tomorrow and get rid of the front derailleur and just go one by. That'll solve many issues with that bike although it also means I'll have to put in more effort up hills rather than taking the soft option.

No, it's not a requirement. Okay so I got a new one for Estonia but the Anthem did the job in Hungary and it was two years old by then.

Looks like I'm going the one-by anyway. It's times like this I wish I had a job so I can pay for all this crap.
