| Bash: | That's the slowest kilometer you've done in a long time! The Level 5 intensity was the part where you were attempting to open the parachute, I assume? |

| superwes1000: | I think it merits another colour.
Way to jump out of a perfectly functional airplane. |

| hansel: | The level 5 intensity was me trying to hold onto the strut under the wing for as long as possible, with my feet hanging below, all while the instructor was punching me in the face.
Seriously, it was crazy. There are countless instincts within you that make it surprisingly difficult to crawl out under the wing of an airplane in mid-air. I highly recommend it. As for the colour of this activity, I'm thinking brown is somewhat appropriate... |

| Bash: | Will you do it again?
Was it fun enough to make it a regular thing? Or is it one of those things that you wonder about, and then once you've experienced it, you're satisfied, and you go on to activities that you enjoy more? |

| hansel: | I would definitely do it again. I could see it getting very addictive...except for the cost of it.
At the end of the course, they gave a little sheet on the costs involved. If wanted to go and do the same thing I did on the weekend, it would cost about $85. But if I want to pregress to the point where I'm certified and can jump solo from 10000' with 35 seconds of freefall, the whole program would cost me about $1600. Not too bad, but then I found out that the average 'chute costs about $10,000!!! Yikes. Definitely an expensive past time. Not to mention underwear replacement costs. It's much cheaper and just as much of a rush to start doing my interval workouts on the QEW or something. |

| Bash: | You could save money by purchasing someone's old used 'chute - or else one of those cheap ones from China with the melamine in them. The best part is that you wouldn't need to save up for too many airplane flights after that. |

| hansel: | Great...uh...suggestion Bash. You don't like me much do you? ;) |

| zoolander: | sky diving's retarded |

| hansel: | Zoolander, what gives? Did your nephew hack your AP account? Your comments are so much more insightful and articulate than usual. |

| zoolander: | ha ha. long day, that's all. don't waste that precious gift of life on something as silly as sky diving. Why don't you go get a tatoo instead? Or better yet, let's go kiteboarding next weekend. |
| # Posted 2007-09-28 01:28:20 | |
| hansel: | I went running down by Cherry Beach the other day - super windy and there were at least 20 kiteboarders out there. I'm game. |
