Do people really make themselves things *just* for packed lunches? As in, not a sandwich nor leftovers from dinner? WEIRD. (And also, I'm very glad I get lunch at work. It may be boring Norwegian lunch but it saves time (and money) and probably helps stave off decision fatigue a weee tiny bit).
Well, my intent was to note this for later. The challenge for me is that the satisfaction/cost ratio of a burrito is typically much higher for me than anything I could bring from home of comparable nutritional and energy content. I could envision making a large batch of something simple - like a pasta salad - and then bringing various sides like fruit, crackers, etc to accompany it for a few days.
Sometimes I make things with the intention of just bringing it for lunch. Usually that's if I know there won't be any dinner leftovers or Ed ate the dinner leftovers for a midnight snack.
I usually get whatever the entree is at the work cafeteria for lunch, because there ain't no fancy cuisine going on at home for dinner, just sandwiches or something that goes straight from the freezer to the microwave.
