Seward Park is pretty much off limits to orienteering now, I think Cascade's last event there was a trails only Choose Your Adventure back in 2011 or so.

It's a Seattle City Park, which means no off-trail orienteering, and at this park in particular, they've done a really good job at removing the old social trails that used to be more abundant.

Since Seattle City Parks' edict about no off-trail orienteering, Seward Park is one that was hit the hardest, in my opinion. Unlike Woodland, Lincoln, and Magnuson Parks, Seward Park doesn't have much open land, the forest doesn't have a dense trail network, and the forest is pretty thick (unlike Woodland, where it's pretty open everywhere to the point that you can't do any "damage" off trail).

Ah, I see. Thanks for this info Patrick. I'll be sure to avoid orienteering there in the future.
